"Machinoiserie II": A Joint Exhibition by Tobias Klein and Hong Zeiss

Tobias Klein, Associate Dean and Associate Professor at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) and a member of ArtX Hong Kong Institute (ArtX HK), together with Hong Zeiss, a Vienna‑based conceptual painter, presented a joint exhibition, “Machinoiserie II”, in Hong Kong.
The exhibition initiated a profound dialogue between micro and macro perspectives through Klein’s innovative reinterpretation of ancient Chinese scholar stones and Zeiss’s captivating paintings. The interactions between the works transcended language and the senses, bridging geographical and temporal divides, and led us into unfathomable realms that resist any definitive classification.
