ArtX Seminar: “Digital Art: From Traditional Classics to Modern Nature”
On 29 January 2026, Professor Jin Jun, Director of the CAFA Art Museum, delivered a seminar titled “Digital Art: From Traditional Classics to Modern Nature” at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK). Taking the practical approaches and artistic presentations of contemporary digital immersive art creation as its entry point, the seminar explored the innovative inheritance of traditional art and culture within the context of the digital era, alongside its multifaceted integration with modern technology.
Professor Jin is currently the Director of the CAFA Art Museum, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), and Dean of the School of Design and Arts at Beijing Institute of Technology. He also serves as the Deputy Director of the Digital Art Committee of the China Artists Association and the Deputy Director of the Education Committee of the China Science Film and Video Association. With an interdisciplinary background spanning art, design, and technology, his primary research interests include digital media art, immersive experience design, and digital twin design. Professor Jin has nearly three decades of experience in the fields of design and art, with extensive expertise in creation, curation, and teaching—including over twenty years in digital media art education and research. In recent years, he has been dedicated to exploring the innovative integration of traditional classical art with modern aesthetics and digital technology, advancing the development of art and cultural industries in the digital intelligence era, and contributing to the establishment of standards and industry directions for digital art display.
