On June 29, Bauhinia Culture Holdings Limited held the launch ceremony for the “Bauhinia Creator Program” and the “Seeing Hong Kong” Short Video Contest at the Shenzhen Hong Kong and Macao Culture and Education Exchange Center. The event aims to bring together quality creators and platform partners to foster innovative expression and international dissemination of Hong Kong stories and Chinese stories.

Mr. Wei Ding, Deputy General Manager of Bauhinia Culture Holdings Limited; Mr. Xiaohui Li, Director of the External Affairs Division of the Cyber Communication Bureau of the Cyberspace Administration of China; and Mr. Chi-hang Mak, Assistant Director of the Information Services Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region(HKSAR), attended the event as officiating guests. Representatives from relevant Central Government Departments, HKSAR Government bodies, internet platforms, and content creators, as well as representatives from the relevant business divisions and affiliated media of Bauhinia Culture Holdings Limited, also attended the event.

Professor Fen Lin, Associate Vice-President (Global Strategy) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) and Director of ArtX Hong Kong Institute (ArtX HK), was invited to attend the event and moderated the roundtable discussion on “How Can Chinese Stories Go Global from a Globalization Perspective”.

The discussion focused on content globalization, brand internationalization, and cross-cultural communication. Drawing on their professional experiences, the speakers shared insights and practical reflections, noting that for Chinese stories to resonate with international audiences, authentic individual experiences can serve as meaningful entry points to connect with shared human emotions and foster broader cross-cultural resonance.

During the session, Professor Lin engaged in in-depth dialogue with industry representatives and practitioners from relevant sectors on pathways to content internationalization, communication strategies, and the articulation of urban cultural identity. The exchange provided valuable practical reference points and research insights for the ArtX HK’s ongoing work in cross-cultural communication, city image studies, and new media research.
